WWW: I think all of the subjects I chose for the focus of the photos worked well to convey the word, and the angling of the shots were good
EBI: Some of the photos were confusing and the lighting was off.

Andy Goldsworthy
Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who sets his work in a natural and urban setting. He works and lives in Scotland. He was born in a Cheshire, in an area called the green belt, dominated by green spaces and natural wildlife. From the age of 13 he worked on farms as a labourer. He liked the repetitiveness and routine quality of the farm life. He associates this repetitiveness with his sculpting. Goldsworthy studied fine arts in the Bradford College of Art and at the Preston Polytechnic, receiving his Bachelor of Arts. Since then he has an honorary degree and has had a documentary made about him. Photography plays a crucial role in his art due to its often ephemeral and transient state. According to Goldsworthy, "Each work grows, stays, decays – integral parts of a cycle which the photograph shows at its heights".
Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams was an American landscape photographer know for his black and white photographs. Adams helped found the anti-pictorialist group F/64 , an association of photographers advocating a "pure" photography that has sharp focus and the use of the full tonal range of a photograph. He was an environmentalist conservation advocate, his photographs were connected to his work as an environmentalist
Berenice Abbott
Bernice Alice Abbott, was an American photographer who was known for her portraits of between wars 20th century cultural figures, New York City photographs of architecture and urban design of the 1930s, and science interpretation in the 1940s to 1960s. Framing
Link Artist- John Divola
John Divola is an American photographer and visual artist. In his photos he uses a white frame as border for his photos. Inside the frame he photographs quite abstract visuals, "on the edge between abstract and specific".
Here we went around school using a paper frame and tried photographing a few different subjects.

WWW: I think I chose good objects to photograph and managed to hold up the frame right
EBI: In a couple of the photos the frame was crooked so next time I should try to hold it up better, perhaps by using a tripod to hold the camera.

The Formal Elements
WWW: The subjects I chose to photograph conveyed each word well in my opinion and I managed the zoom blur technique well.
EBI: Some photos were too dark.

Negative Space - Detailed Response
In art, negative space is the space around and between the subjects of the image. Negative space may be most evident when the space around the subject forms an interesting or artistically relevant space. This space is occasionally used to artistic effect as the 'real' subject of an image.
WWW: I think the lighting, angling and placement of the objects worked very well.
EBI: Next time I should try experimenting with a wider range of different subjects.

Matthew Venot
Matthieu Venot started out with a strong desire to rediscover his town of origin, Brest in Brittany and captures it from his perspective. He usually took photos of architectural details, with fairly constructive angles, creating quite geometrical abstract images. He only photographs when the weather is incredibly good and therefore Matthieu uses the immaculate sky like the background in a studio. This is his way of not disturbing the composition of his pictures : simple and graphic. This then means that the shapes in his images stand out from this blue background
Texture - Detailed Response
WWW: I think I managed to capture the texture of surfaces
EBI: Most photos were clear but some came out unfocused and blurry, next time I should maybe use a tripod or manage exposure settings better.

Aaron Siskind
He was an American photographer and was the first to combine straight photography with abstract photography. Siskind turned away from the social/political world post-World War II, and instead looked inward to seek meaning in the mostly inanimate forms he observed around him. In fact he found joy from discovering new subjects and photographing them in a way that emphasised his reading of the world.
Close Up Abstraction
WWW: I tried out interesting techniques and angles of taking the photos.
EBI: Some photos came out too bright or too dark, this is something I should work on.

Light
WWW: I managed the light exposure settings e.g. ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture well so I could capture the right amount of light.
EBI: Some of the subjects I chose to photograph were boring and didn't fit the theme the well.
